The Importance of Having Links
In order for your site to be seen, it should appear in different intersections of the internet. It must have its strategic position in online advertising (whatever form it is), search engines, and links. But how do you build links to your site? If you are serious about your success, you know that link building is a prerequisite and not a choice. Without a link, you will be just depending only on someone typing your website address on the address bar of their browsers, also known as direct traffic.
Unless you are a big company with a famous brand, or your domain is very easy to remember, that would be very easy. Links are important to bring you traffic and high search engine position as well. If you have a very competitive keywords such as “health”, “internet” or “shopping”, if you do not have at least 70,000 links coming to your site, you’ll not even be in the first 10 pages of Google no matter how much optimization you do. With less competitive keywords, generally, a much fewer number of incoming links is required to drive you to the top of the search engines. There are many things you should consider before you even start your linking campaign and it is very dificult for me to discuss everything here. But if you are now thinking about it, first, it should begin with looking at your own site. List some reasons why one would be willing to link with you or exchange links with you (reciprocal linking). Unique, quality contents, tutorials of some essential things that would be hard for them to find elsewhere, some free stuff, etc. are some of great contents that may make others link back to your site without asking for it.
